This video was shot on a warm early summer’s day back in 1993, down in Devon. It was the second shoot in a new series of girly videos to be produced by a new company - Amanda Paris. The series didn’t have chance to take off before the AP proprietors moved into more profitable areas of adult entertainment. But the Amanda Paris films remain, and I guess this is my favourite. I had been tasked with choosing a model for this particular shoot, and, while rifling though a wedge of agency photos, I alighted on Rachel. She was everything I imagined a glamour model to be – she was the quintessential blonde glamourpuss, quite stunning in fact. A mini Monroe.
This was the first time I’d attended a shoot, and because it wasn’t all that often that I got to meet such a beauty I was quite apprehensive. When Rachel arrived I was not disappointed. She lived up to her agency photos and then some. It looked like she had spent hours on her hair and make up. She was all eyelashes, boobies, curves, lipstick and perfume, very feminine and well spoken. A real class act. I was smitten.
The video was shot on a Sony S-VHS camera and was originally edited by a cameraman colleague. This movie is my DV conversion and edit of that that first 1993 SVHS cut, hence some of the cheesy titles at the beginning of scenes. I have applied extensive colour correction, as half the footage was shot with the wrong white balance! I’ve also replaced half the music tracks with more appropriate tunes.
For me the day with Rachel in my colleague’s garden, bathed in the early summer sun, was one of those memorably significant kinds of days that punctuate all our lives. In this instance, a happy day, a magical day, where anything felt possible and one couldn’t help but experience a lust for life. I’m sure Rachel will make you feel that way too.
